![]() ![]() You can find out more about me, my inspiration and my work on my Notes from Northumberland blog.Īs well as creating original artwork and illustrated maps, I enjoy designing technical repeat patterns for use on everything from fabrics to stationery, homeware to apparel. ![]() My style is generally illustrative with lots of detailed line work depending on the project, I will add colour through hand- or digital-painting, either in modern splashes of colour, or in realistic tones and hues. I'm a self-taught illustrator with a particular fondness for pen and watercolour - although I love learning new approaches, media and techniques. I am a somewhat eclectic mixture of artist, graphic designer, copywriter, communications specialist and fundraiser by trade, as well as being a passionate environmentalist, historian, keen gardener, music lover, book devourer, craft project collector, wife, mother and Border Terrier servant! I love everything about where I live - there’s dramatic coastline, wild uplands and tranquil riverside, as well as thousands of years of history and culture all on my doorstep. ![]() After a number of years post-Uni living in the South East, I was so happy to be able to move to Northumberland and settle with my family just 2 miles south of the border with Scotland. I was born and bred in County Durham and a sense of being northern has always formed an important part of my identity.
